Cosmetology (from Greek κοσμητικός, kosmētikos, "skilled in adornment"; and -λογία, -logia) is the study and application of beauty treatment. When performed on the feet, such a treatment is a pedicure. Many manicures start by soaking the hands or feet in a softening substance, followed by the application of lotion. A common type of manicure involves shaping the nails and applying nail polish. A manicure may also include the application of artificial nail tips, acrylics, or artificial nail gels. Some manicures can include the painting of pictures or designs on the nails, or applying small decals or imitation jewels. Beauty therapistSpecializes in treatments including hair removal, massage, body wraps, skin care, eye lash and eyebrow tinting, and make-up along with machine treatments such as non surgical facelifts and faradic muscle tone. I like the atmosphere of salons, but im not quite sure if its the right job for me. Anyone who knows about what the job is like? You have to work long hours to make any money at it and if you are trying to make a living it will be hard.You can't count on tips. Think about standing on your feet for hours on end and unhappy customers that no matter what you can't please. If you really want to do it, go for it. Just look into something else to fall back on as well. Take some kind of aptitude test to find out what all you may be good at. Good Luck! Q. I enrolled in an International Beauty School to learn cosmetology. It is around $23,000. I can only go if I can get financial aid and help to pay for it. The school helps you apply for pell grans but other than that, that is it. Where can I get other grants to help? Any information is appreciated.
